Events

SBCAMFT hosts four quarterly CE luncheons (currently due to COVID they are held on zoom) that take place throughout the year to provide educational opportunities for licensed members and networking opportunities for the greater membership.

In a normal pre-COVID times, SBCAMFT hosts a summer mixer as an opportunity for SBCAMFT members and the community to meet, network and connect. In addition to our summer mixer a yearly holiday party is hosted in early December is also a SBCAMFT memberships favorite event.

The pre-licensed community also holds bi-monthly meet ups (typically in the format of a rotation of either mid week happy hour or a weekend morning coffee and pastries get together). The Director of Pre-Licensing also hosts our yearly Road to Licensure event where a State CAMT attorney will come and present a lecture on any updated rules, guidelines or resources for students, trainees and associates pursuing licensure.

In addition to SBCAMFT’s quarterly CEU opportunities, SBCAMFT also hosts a free to SBCAMFT members yearly Law and Ethics training. This 6 hour training is a mandatory requirement for renewal of the LMFT license and is a benefit that many members have expressed gratitude and appreciation for. The Law and Ethics training typically is held in the fall of each year.

Alongside our current offerings, our Director of Community Events is always looking for ways to engage our membership in community opportunities, whether hosting fireside chats, networking opportunities, tabling events or connecting with local agencies and companies that will enhance our memberships visibility and enrichment in our community.

Our Diversity Director role which was founded in 2021 also seeks out opportunities to amplify voices in our community, cultivating resources, conversations and impact to better serve our membership.

Sponsorship opportunities are available if you are interested in partnering with SBCAMFT in hosting an event, providing resources for our membership or being a part of the impact we are making in our community. For more information contact sponsorship@sbcamft.org.

Interested in hosting your own CE Event? Please fill out this application to apply to present at an SBCAMFT CE Luncheon (or zoom event) to provide SBCAMFT membership with continuing education learning and professional development.

    About the Presenter:

    Dr. Remi Drozd, DO, FAWM

Dr. Drozd is a board-certified physicians with 15 years of experiencing improving the well-being of his patients.

He has observed the benefits of psychedelics and their impact on improved well-being in the clinical setting and is also trained as a Ketamine practitioner.

In his experience in a hospital setting, he wasn't satisfied with the way western medicine approached treating symptoms and sickness. He believes that understanding who the patient is, and what they're going through, and then trating them to improve health is the best, most sustainable approach to improving your well-being.

In his continued research, he believes that Ketamine treatment provides that missing piece many people are looking for to feel well again.

Outside of the office, Dr. Drozd loves to surf the waves in Carp, ride his road bike up in the Santa Barbara hills, and be with his family.
