Using a Nutritarian Diet Style & Mindfulness to Overcome Food Addictions and Emotional Eating

with Michael B. Mantz, MD, Board Certified Psychiatrist, Level II iREST practitioner

Dr. Michael Mantz will discuss using a mind-body approach toward the issues surrounding food addiction and emotional eating, explaining the basic structure of the Nutritarian diet style, and why it helps prevent overeating. He will then talk about the use of mindfulness interventions to help bring greater conscious awareness of maladaptive thought patterns, emotional avoidance, and maladaptive action patterns in order to help clients create a more healthy relationship towards food.

About Michael: 

Dr. Mantz graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and completed his residency in Psychiatry at the University of California at Irvine. He is a board-certified psychiatrist, who has worked with and received training from 3 time New York Times best-selling author and nutritional expert, Dr. Joel Fuhrman. Michael is currently a faculty member of the Nutritional Education Institute, has a Master’s degree in Herbalism, and is a Level II Practitioner of iREST-- a westernized form of meditative yoga traditionally called Yoga Nidra.
