I strive to make connection and care the beginning elements to grapple with what an individual, couple, or family might be going though. Meeting a client where they are, understanding how important their relationships and goals are, and mulling solutions together, characterizes our time together. People come to treatment with a 'tangled knot' in their life. Together, we can find that bit of loose string that starts the process of untangling. Marriage impossibilities, medical or pain issues, family messes, stress and anxiety, frozen/stuck depression, sexual frustrations, and substance-related struggles are themes with which I am very familiar.
